LATERAL in PATIOarts
Wednesday, November 13, 2024
𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗟 officially unfolds at 𝗣𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀, transforming the Patio Bullrich into a stage where contemporary art finds new paths. Curated by 𝗔𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶, this second edition not only brings together eight artists in an unusual space but also invites the viewer to get lost in their most intimate projects, their "lateral" creations that break with the predictable.
Each piece here has a story. From the “lettuces” of 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗯𝗮, the result of textile alchemy during the pandemic, to the embroidered tapestries of 𝗥𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮, inspired by the chaotic order of everyday life. 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗯𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗵 explores three-dimensionality in candelabras that challenge the boundaries between art and design, while the photographs of 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘆𝗿𝗮 𝗟𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗮 transport us to stripped landscapes and night skies, freezing moments of calm in black and white. Meanwhile, 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗲 transforms ceramics into sculptural vases that converse with nature, and 𝗙𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗔, the duo formed by 𝗜𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗶𝗿𝗮 and 𝗜𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗡𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗶, presents their first joint video installation, exploring the preludes to a creative process.
𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗟 returns as a catalyst for contemporary art, a space where art expands, becomes dialogue and connection, inviting us to inhabit the essence of the unexpected and celebrate creative freedom in its most authentic form.
